Hubbard Street 2 will be performing at Lakeshore Community Auditorium to culminate their week-long residency with BCD. Advanced Dancers will open the show with repertoire learned that week from HS2 company members.

Community Update
We have scheduled a week-long residency with Hubbard Street Dance Chicago for March of 2012! Advanced dancers will learn repertoire from Hubbard Street company members and perform it in our Spring 2012 Concert. In addition, all classes will have the opportunity to take class from these professionals for the entire week. Community master classes will also be held in addition to an amazing concert performed at our very own Lakeshore Community Auditorium, on Saturday March 24 at 7:00 PM!

Our Annual Dance Marathon will be held Saturday, January 21. Ballroom, Hip-hop, Fitness and MORE available. You can find information and registration about this event right here as the date gets closer. Proceeds from this event will help fund the Hubbard Street Dance Chicago project for BCD!

In the Course of a Year...
Throughout the school year we base our primary focus on modern dance technique, but we also spend time learning techniques of jazz and ballet. Students will learn about elements of composition and are offered opportunities throughout the year to choreograph their own works. Students that audition their ideas for choreography have the chance to feature their work in our Winter or Spring Dance Concert. Outside of learning student choreography, BCD members also learn repertoire from Mrs. Graziano and outside professionals. Throughout the years our students have worked with distinguished dance professionals such as Randy Duncan, Jon Lehrer and members of LehrerDance, Frank Chavez, Laurie Eisenhower and members of Eisenhower Dance Ensemble, Mari Jo Irbe, Sarita Smith Childs, Winifred Haun, Lisa Catrett-Belrose, Jennifer Archibald, and Autumn Eckman.
